Not Beyond Reach — Why and How We Can Engage with Those Far from God (Aaron Pierce)
Thursday Feb 06, 2025
Thursday Feb 06, 2025
In this episode, we explore the origins and mission of Steiger, a radical international missionary movement that began with a punk priest in Amsterdam reaching ‘lost sheep.’
Steiger emphasizes the power of preaching the cross through creative and visual methods and has grown into a global movement.
The discussion delves into the challenges of communicating truth in a world shaped by the “Macdonaldisation of the Church” and the complex landscape of global youth culture.
We tackle the confusion of identity in today’s society, exacerbated by secular humanism and the isolating mantra of “my truth,” which have contributed to a world filled with loneliness, confusion, anxiety, and brokenness.
Key topics include:
•Engaging a post-Christian, overcrowded context with creativity and authenticity
•Having spiritual conversations in a skeptical age
•The necessity of focusing on Jesus rather than relying on “big names”
•The Send as a means to mobilize a movement and this year’s LAUNCH event, which aims to equip and release leaders like never before
Inspiring stories from Oslo and Saudi Arabia illustrate how a holy discontent can fuel transformative action.

Church Leadership – local, national and global
Anthony and Ness discuss the challenges and opportunities of leading a church and a network of churches. Ness expressed her gratitude for being able to lead a local church and a network, as it allows her to connect with the complexities of church leadership and pass on her experiences.
They also touched on the importance of humility, love, and grace in navigating pastoral issues within the next generation in church.
Church Leadership Models and Adaptation
Anthony and Ness discuss the future of church leadership and models. They agreed that the church should not professionalise leadership but should instead train and invest in leadership gifts. They also discussed the importance of understanding the context and culture to which they are called.
Ness mentioned that Pioneer Church does not have a one-size-fits-all model, but rather adapts to the specific setting and context of each church or church plant. They also touched on the success of a bilingual model at Lighthouse Church, Anglesey. Anthony shared his positive experience visiting Lighthouse Church with his wife Zoe.
Embracing Spiritual Gifts in Ministry
They discuss the importance of embracing the spiritual gifts in their ministry. Ness emphasised the need for a high view of the spiritual gifts, proper training, and boundaries to ensure their effective use. She also highlighted the importance of creating space for these gifts and modeling good practice. They also stressed the significance of holding a high view of Scripture and honoring God's word and expressed a growing conviction about the centrality of the Word of God in their ministry.
Bible Reading as Discipleship Tool
Ness shared a story about a 22-year-old electrician who became a Christian after reading the King James version of the Bible. This experience inspired Ness to give away more Bibles and to encourage people to read the Bible with others. To facilitate this, they placed a QR code sticker in the front of the Bibles, directing people to a link for meeting up with someone to read the Bible together.
Preparing for the Upcoming Launch Event
Anthony and Ness discussed the upcoming LAUNCH event in June, with Ness expressing her excitement to be part of it. Anthony revealed the list of speakers, including Chip Ingram, Aaron Pierce and many others, for what they believe will be an important of gathering in preparing the church for the future.
Ness shared her belief that they are in a John the Baptist era, calling for the church to prepare and get ready for the coming of the King. Anthony agreed, stating that this is a year of expansion and not a time to hold back.
Spiritual Guidance for Younger Generations
Anthony and Ness discussed the need for spiritual guidance and mentorship for the younger generation, particularly Gen. Z. Ness emphasized the importance of creating community and providing practical skills, such as cooking, to help young adults navigate life's challenges. They also discussed the potential of younger leaders stepping up into leadership roles and the need for churches to serve and support their communities.
Ness prayed for the group, asking for trust in God's plans and guidance, and for the power of the Holy Spirit to align them with God's work.

“COP AND ROBBER” Paul Lloyd in conversation with Anthony Delaney
Thursday Sep 26, 2024
Thursday Sep 26, 2024
Paul Lloyd with his wife Vicky leads Victory Outreach Church in Salford and they travel globally as part of that incredible ministry.
He had a background in combat sports but after an injury in his teens he fell into depression which took him into the world of Eastend and Essex gangs, heroin addiction and crime. He talks with ex-cop Anthony about why people get addicted and how at 27 years of age he was set free by Jesus Christ after in his hour of need a prizefighter friend told him the good news.
Their time together is profoundly hopeful as Paul describes the hopelessness of atheism and scientism to change lives for good, and why “the church must not just bring a message of lifestyle change, but life exchange!” It just gets better after that bit - so cut out an hour for this fantastic, humorous episode and help us share the hope by liking, reviewing, sharing and subscribing.

Geoff Surratt – Steering And Staying The Course In Ministry
Tuesday Aug 13, 2024
Tuesday Aug 13, 2024
Geoff has been in ministry for 40+ years as a lead pastor and executive pastor. He was one of the early pioneers of the multisite church movement, overseeing the campus expansion of Seacoast Church and Saddleback Church. He also served as the Managing Director of Exponential and has authored or co-authored four books. For the past 15 years Geoff has coached leaders across the U.S. and Europe (including Anthony!) on multiplication, strategy and structure.
We discussed:
What does ‘success’ in ministry really look like?
How do we keep the main thing the main thing?
What devotional practices can practically help us to stay the course?
What guardrails and what do we need to pay attention to that might prevent us from failing and spoiling our leadership legacy as too many ‘high profile’ men are doing so often currently?
How do we deal with ‘haters’ whether outside or inside the church?
How to make the most of the church by getting women in leadership not on the sidelines.
How to check and discern if YOU have ‘a call’ to Christian leadership.
